Ultimate Performance Blister Plasters are the front line in treating and preventing blisters while running, walking or playing sport. Once applied this hydrocolloid plaster provides immediate relief from the pain of blisters. Long-lasting adhesion keeps the plaster in place on the skin for longer. Additionally, it cushions and protects the area, preventing further rubbing, therefore, faster healing.
Blister plaster pack sizes
Ultimate Performace Blister Plasters come in the following package sizes:
Small
Sized small to treat blisters on the toe area in particular. Each pack contains 6 individual blister plasters.
Medium
The medium sized hydrocolloid blister plasters are the ideal for larger blisters on the heal and foot. Specifically, common areas include
- Back of the heel
- Instep and foot arch
Mixed
The mixed pack contains 3 medium and 2 small blister plasters.
How to apply blister plasters
It is important to apply blisters plasters properly to get the best outcomes:
Clean the area
Wash with water or wipe clean to remove dirt/sweat. Use an antibacterial wipe or sterile wound wipe to clean the area if the skin is broken. Then dry the area completely. This is important!
Don’t burst the blister (if possible)
Intact skin will heal faster and have a lower infection risk. Only drain with a sterile needle (if you know what you’re doing).
Choose the right size plaster
It should fully cover the blister with a margin around it. Avoid stretching it to fit. Peel off backing without touching the pad and place directly over the blister. Smooth down edges firmly aviding wrinkles or air bubbles.
Leave it in place
Don’t keep removing it. If done properly, it may stay on several days and will often turn white (normal). Let it come off naturally and replace only when it starts to peel away.
Pro tips for using blister plasters
Warm the plaster in your hands or another warm, dry body area. This helps it stick better for longer, activating the adhesive.
Apply at first sign of a hot spot, not after it fully forms. Preventing blisters is always the best cure.
For high-friction areas (heel, toes), applying zinc oxide tape over the top. High quality 3.8mm or 2.5mm tan tape is perfect. Also, consider anti-blister socks from 1000Mile.co.uk.
Change your socks regularly if walking or trekking, especially if you get wet feet. Wet feet will cause blisters much quicker and shorten the life of a blaster plaster.
