Hot & Cold therapy
One of the most important elements of treatment for Jumpers knee/Patella tendinopathy is to reduce pain and inflammation. Applying a cold therapy gel pack for 10 to 15 minutes every couple of hours initially is one of the most effective ways of doing this.
Re-usable cold therapy and compression wraps are more convenient than ice and later in the rehabilitation process can be used to apply heat.
Patella Tendon Strap
Patella tendon straps wrap around the knee, just below the patella (kneecap). They work by applying pressure to the tendon. As a result, the forces on the tendon are changed, relieving pain and aiding the healing process.
